Why Lisa
BetterUp sits at the intersection of coaching, holistic behavior change, and human transformation. That’s exactly where I’ve been building my career.
A former journalist, I learned the craft of storytelling at the onset of my career. I was a scrappy journalist who wanted to move back to Rome, Italy, where I grew up on a whim and a freelance stringer position with Red Herring Magazine. After publishing hundreds of articles in such media channels as the Associated Press, Fast Company, and Houston Chronicle, I moved to Oklahoma City to be with my now USAF veteran husband. I ventured into content marketing where I used my wordsmithing powers to help brands whose missions I believed in connect with members and customers. I worked at tech startups and membership-driven organizations like the Association for Talent Development (ATD) to create marketing, content and SEO strategies from scratch, develop new audiences and revenue streams, and deliver real results that equated to millions in sales and additional memberships. What I loved about all of these experiences were the human interactions and transformations I was able to witness and foster.
After fully launching my own organization, Blue Pinecone Consulting, in 2023, I was able to take that love and passion around human transformation and dive in deep with many public sector clients to create real change through the power of training and coaching. Today, I use my skills in communications,learning and development, and coaching to deliver change activiation for clients throughout all sectors, but mostly in the D.C. area.
As BetterUp continues to build out their offerings, especially for those in the public sector, it would be beneficial to have a professional who has insider experience with public sector clients, and especially one who has a diverse set of skills, including exceptional communications, project management, and direct experience creating change with a background in your main offering—coaching. That someone is me.
