Mary Shaffran has combined learnings from an expansive and successful executive career, her love for listening to and encouraging others, and her desire to pay forward the investments others have made in her success into her current role as an executive and team coach. Mary’s career features advances in public health and environmental leadership through varied roles in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. Among her proudest accomplishments are those related to creating progress through strategic planning, improving the health of businesses and teams through organizational development, and fostering growth through creative and consistent business development practices.
Mary’s education includes a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on Organizational Development from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Arts focused on Political Science and Music from Converse College. Additionally, she received leadership training from the Harvard Public Health Leadership Initiative and the Regional Institute of Health and Environmental Leadership. More recently, Mary has pursued education in the field of coaching from George Mason University, completing its Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-Being program and earning the Professional Certified Coach designation from the International Coaching Federation. Mary has an advanced certification in Team Coaching from Corentus. Mary is certified in the Leadership Circle Profile assessment tool as well as the EQi-2.0 and 360 tools.
In her active coaching practice, Mary supports clients as they build and walk their own unique path toward personal excellence. Using a strengths-based approach, Mary helps high-performing individuals and teams understand and ignite their motivations, establish healthy habits, overcome barriers to progress, and define success on their terms.
