About the Early Education Division
The Early Education Division is federally funded to provide centerbased Head Start and Early Head Start services, offering highquality early care and education along with comprehensive community resources and referrals. These programs are designed to ensure that economically disadvantaged children enter school ready to learn and that families have the support needed to achieve longterm selfsufficiency. The division operates classrooms through a mixeddelivery model that includes fullyear, partyear, communitybased, and schoolbased sites. Services are delivered directly by Maricopa County and through contracted Child Care Partnerships.
About the Department
The Maricopa County Human Services Department (HSD) builds community resilience and promotes the well-being of County residents by helping people and families thrive through a variety of programs and services that address adversity. These opportunities include early childhood education, housing, homeownership, independent living services for seniors and adults with disabilities, career development for job seekers with barriers to employment, crisis rental and utility assistance, and support for people experiencing homelessness. HSD is committed to delivering innovative and comprehensive services in a collaborative approach that preserves dignity, promotes respect, and facilitates social and economic mobility.
In 2025, the Human Services Department was the proud recipient of 23 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo), highlighting the Department's commitment to supporting low-income and at-risk communities. Maricopa County Human Services was honored for a wide variety of programs that showcase their valuable work, including Regional Solutions to Homelessness in Rural and Underserved Communities, Pathway to Rapid Reemployment, Tonopah Fire Station Improvements, Refugee Relocation Assistance Program, the Early Education Division's EVIT Expanded Partnership, and several other initiatives.

Job Contributions
Cultivates positive, trusting working relationships with staff while providing strong leadership, coaching, modeling, and support to teachers and supervisors
Ensures full compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, organizational policies, procedures, and established program goals
Assists and assumes responsibility for the care and well-being of children in the program
Conducts classroom observations to collect data on teaching and learning practices, curriculum implementation and fidelity, and quality early learning settings using evidence-based tools
Provides guidance and models on preparing and maintaining accurate records
Guides staff to respect, value, and facilitate family engagement in collaboration with supervisors and family support staff
Provides guidance and models in conducting transition activities with parents, community partners, and children
Assists staff in utilizing data to develop data-driven classroom lesson plans and education plans individualized to children's strengths
Performs additional duties as needed based on program context-including Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms across schoolbased, communitybased, faithbased, and Childcare Partnership settings-such as facilitating monthly site team meetings and collaborating with internal and external partners
